Se\u00e7me \u00f6zg\u00fcrl\u00fc\u011f\u00fcn\u00fcn (freedom of choice) en g\u00fcndelik uygulamalar\u0131ndan biri olarak icra edece\u011fi mesle\u011fi se\u00e7ebilmek ku\u015fkusuz ki bir Objektivist i\u00e7in olmazsa olmazd\u0131r. Peki Objektivizm hi\u00e7 \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmamay\u0131 se\u00e7en bir bireyi nas\u0131l g\u00f6r\u00fcr? Bireyin kendine yeterlili\u011fine ve \u00fcretkenli\u011fine bu kadar de\u011fer atfeden bir d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnce sistemi g\u00f6n\u00fcll\u00fc i\u015fsizlikle ne kadar ba\u011fda\u015fabilir?<\/p>\n<p>1918 Sovyet Anayasas\u0131\u2019n\u0131n 18. Maddesinde de belirtildi\u011fi \u00fczere, \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmak t\u00fcm SSCB vatanda\u015flar\u0131n\u0131n temel bir sorumlulu\u011fuydu, \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmay\u0131 reddetmek kanunen bir su\u00e7tu ve bu ki\u015filer kamu yarar\u0131na katk\u0131 sunmad\u0131klar\u0131 i\u00e7in cezaya tabiydi. Kabul etmek gerekir ki bireyin sadece toplumun yarar\u0131na varoldu\u011fu ve t\u00fcm mal ve hizmetlerin merkezden da\u011f\u0131t\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131 bir sistemde \u201cbedavac\u0131lar\u0131\u201d cezaland\u0131rmak piyasan\u0131n verimini koruyabilmek ad\u0131na mant\u0131kl\u0131 bir harekettir. \u0130\u015fsizli\u011fi tespit edip cezaland\u0131rmak kolayd\u0131, dolay\u0131s\u0131yla atanm\u0131\u015f i\u015flerinde (veya herhangi bir i\u015fte) \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmak istemeyenler i\u00e7in g\u00f6rev ba\u015f\u0131nda i\u015ften ka\u00e7\u0131nmak \u00e7ok daha kolay ve g\u00fcvenli bir yoldu. Bunun sonucunda, totaliter Sovyet Rejimi\u2019nin demir yumru\u011funun nispeten daha az etkili oldu\u011fu b\u00f6lgelerde halk aras\u0131nda yayg\u0131n bir kaytarma k\u00fclt\u00fcr\u00fc geli\u015fti. Yine \u00c7ek as\u0131ll\u0131 bir foto\u011fraf\u00e7\u0131 olan Jind\u0159ich \u0160treit\u2019\u0131n kadraj\u0131na da \u00fcstte yans\u0131d\u0131\u011f\u0131 gibi, uygulanan bask\u0131n\u0131n ve insanlar\u0131n \u00fcretim fark etmeksizin \u00e7al\u0131\u015f\u0131yor g\u00f6r\u00fcnd\u00fckleri s\u00fcrece hayatlar\u0131n\u0131 rahat\u00e7a idame ettirebilmelerinin bir sonucu olarak insanlar uzun ve zorlu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma saatlerini e\u011flenip sosyalle\u015ferek ge\u00e7irmeye ba\u015flad\u0131lar. Ku\u015fkusuz ki bu durum ekonomik a\u00e7\u0131dan tam bir faciayd\u0131 ama \u015fahsen bunu insanl\u0131\u011f\u0131n bir mucizesi, ki\u015filerin en bask\u0131c\u0131 rejimler alt\u0131nda bile kendi k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck \u00f6zg\u00fcrl\u00fck alanlar\u0131n\u0131 ve bireyliklerini nas\u0131l korumaya \u00e7al\u0131\u015ft\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131n canl\u0131 bir kan\u0131t\u0131 olarak g\u00f6rmekten kendimi al\u0131koyam\u0131yorum. Gelmi\u015f ge\u00e7mi\u015f en g\u00fc\u00e7l\u00fc totaliteryen rejimlerden birine kar\u015f\u0131 sessiz ama onurlu bir ba\u015fkald\u0131r\u0131.<\/p>\n<p>Belirtmek gerekir ki, Objektivist bir perspektiften \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmay\u0131 reddetmekle alakal\u0131 hi\u00e7bir problem yok. Birey neden topluma bir katk\u0131 sunmaya, bir makineymi\u015f gibi \u00e7\u0131kt\u0131 \u00fcretmeye zorlans\u0131n ki? Elbette \u00e7al\u0131\u015fabilecek durumda olup \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmay\u0131 reddeden bir bireyin devletten maddi yard\u0131m alarak ge\u00e7inmeyi beklemesi Objektivist eti\u011fe uygun de\u011fildir, fakat ya o insan\u0131n kendisine bakmaya r\u0131za g\u00f6steren bir partneri varsa? Ya kendilerine uzun s\u00fcre yetebilecek \u00f6l\u00e7\u00fcde birikime sahiplerse? Birey zorunlu olarak ba\u015fkalar\u0131n\u0131n \u00fcretiminden faydalanmak durumunda b\u0131rak\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131 i\u00e7in SSCB \u00f6rne\u011finde \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma veya \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmama se\u00e7imlerinin etik boyutunu incelemek hayli zor. . Objektivizmin temellerinden biri olan \u201ckimseyi kurban etme ve kimse i\u00e7in kurban edilme\u201d prensibi ka\u00e7\u0131n\u0131lmaz bir \u015fekilde ihlal edilmekte ve kendi kendine yetebilmek imkans\u0131zken neden birey kendisine zarar veren ve hi\u00e7bir kazan\u00e7 getirmeyen insanl\u0131k d\u0131\u015f\u0131 \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma ko\u015fullar\u0131na g\u00f6\u011f\u00fcs germek zorunda olsun? Bu a\u00e7\u0131dan incelendi\u011finde \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmaktan (m\u00fcmk\u00fcnse toplu bir \u015fekilde) ka\u00e7\u0131narak ekonomiye bir de\u011fi\u015fikli\u011fe yol a\u00e7acak kadar zarar verebilmeyi ummak hem say\u0131lan nedenlerden \u00f6t\u00fcr\u00fc hem de bireyin g\u00fcvenli\u011fi a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131ndan en mant\u0131kl\u0131 yol olarak g\u00f6r\u00fcn\u00fcyor.<\/p>\n<p>Dahas\u0131, bu ko\u015fullar alt\u0131nda g\u00f6n\u00fcll\u00fc i\u015fsizlik Rand\u2019\u0131n \u00fcretkenlik kavram\u0131yla da uyumludur. Rand \u00fcretkenli\u011fin ba\u015farma arzusundan do\u011fdu\u011funu s\u00f6yler, fakat SSCB\u2019de zorunlu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma bireye bir g\u00fcn daha ya\u015fayabilmekten daha \u00fcst\u00fcn bir ba\u015far\u0131 getirmez. Bu \u015fartlar alt\u0131nda, aktif olarak \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmak \u00fcretkenlik sa\u011flaman\u0131n aksine bireyin zaman\u0131n\u0131 ve enerjisini verimsiz bir \u015fekilde harcayarak \u00fcretkenli\u011fi baltalamaktad\u0131r. \u00d6rne\u011fin Picasso zorunlu bir temizlik i\u015fine atansayd\u0131 sokak s\u00fcp\u00fcrerek ge\u00e7irdi\u011fi s\u00fcre, ayn\u0131 zamanda resim yapmayarak ge\u00e7irdi\u011fi s\u00fcre olurdu. Neredeyse her ko\u015fulda, birey iradesiyle se\u00e7ti\u011fi i\u015fe k\u0131yasla atand\u0131\u011f\u0131 i\u015fte daha y\u00fcksek bir firsat maliyetiyle kar\u015f\u0131la\u015facakt\u0131r. Bireyin ger\u00e7ekten de \u201coptimal\u201d i\u015fe atand\u0131\u011f\u0131 nadir ko\u015fullarda bile toplam \u00fcretkenli\u011fin artaca\u011f\u0131 d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fclemez. Tek bir merkezi otoritenin b\u00fct\u00fcn vatanda\u015flar\u0131 i\u00e7in en iyisinin ne oldu\u011funu bilebilmesinin m\u00fcmk\u00fcn olmad\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 da g\u00f6z \u00f6n\u00fcnde bulundurursak, zorunlu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma her ne kadar resmi i\u015fsizlik oranlar\u0131n\u0131 azaltsa da \u00fcretkenlik a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131ndan tam bir faciad\u0131r. <\/p>\n<p>G\u00f6rd\u00fc\u011f\u00fcn\u00fcz \u00fczere, merkezi bir otorite taraf\u0131ndan atanm\u0131\u015f bir i\u015fte \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmaya zorlanmak hem etik a\u00e7\u0131dan hem de \u00fcretkenlik a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131ndan olduk\u00e7a problemlidir. Bireyin hangi i\u015fte \u00e7al\u0131\u015faca\u011f\u0131n\u0131 se\u00e7me hakk\u0131 kadar \u00e7al\u0131\u015f\u0131p \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmayaca\u011f\u0131n\u0131 se\u00e7me hakk\u0131 da olmal\u0131d\u0131r.
